Is Flash a Deal Breaker?

I was wondering, out of those of you that are thinking of purchasing the iPad does the lack of Flash change your mind about purchasing it?  Personally it has swayed my purchase a bit.  I am still hopeful that Flash support will be added, but at the same time I doubt it.  If I can’t watch Hulu or play my stupid little FaceBook games on the go then what’s the point?  I can download Amazon’s Kindle software for my BlackBerry and read books on the go, it already has a New York Times app, and it does pretty much everything I need it to do.  I thought the iPad would be EVERYTHING nicely wrapped up into one, but alas I am a bit heart broken.  What do you guys think?

  • Clearly you are MUCH more technical than I, but I am waiting on the iPAD (the name gives me cramps!) and will buy one on the next go-around when they work out the kinks. Maybe I am old fashioned!

  • I really want one, but no Flash is making hard on me. How will I watch Hulu, play my stupid little FaceBook games, or check newser.com?

  • They’re probably afraid that if they put flash on the ipad people will be able to code they’re own apps, and redesign the layout. Seems strange to me, for them to drop that program all together.

  • Their reasoning is that the majority of crashes that happen on a Mac is due to faulty Flash programming and that Adobe “is lazy” and do not write secure software. Also, html 5 has the ability to have video, audio, and games embedded in it there fore making Flash not needed. It will be interesting to see what happens. I think I’m still getting the $499 version, but I haven’t made up my mind yet.
